Installation

  • I can't approach the camera via internet

    There can be several reasons:

    1. ActiveX component is not installed correctly.
    2. The IP-port which the camera uses is being blocked by a firewall or anti-virus software. Try a different port or turn off the firewall/anti-virus software temporarily to test.
    3. Port mapping (port-forwarding) isn't working. Read the manual of your router/modem for more information. Note: Foscam cameras support Upnp.
    • To approach a camera from the internet, you need to configure port-forwarding in your router or activate uPnP on both the camera as well as the router.
    • You cannot use the normal IP address of the camera from the internet (usually starting with 192.168.xxx.xxx), but you need to use the public IP address of your network on the internet. This can be easily found via www.whatismyip.com
